What the "birthers" really want....

They want President Obama dead. Period. They will not accept that he is our President and they won't stop their non-sense until they get some redneck drunk racists upset enough to do something horrible. This is really getting out of hand and it's time these people shut their cake-holes. They will not be happy until this man is gone and they don't care how it happens. The constant fear-mongering against this President is reaching a fever pitch and respectable Republicans need to stand up and say enough is enough. He is OUR President and if something happens to this man and his two little girls are left without a father, blood is going to be on many peoples hands for not shutting the ignorant people up about this including the nutjobs at Fox News, etc. Even Rush Limbaugh has come out and said that Barack was born in Hawaii. It's time to stop the madness.

Yeah, both sides do but the liberals weren't inciting fear to the masses hoping and praying some ignorant nutcase will finally flip his lid and kill somebody. The fear mongering has to stop. The amount of death threats this man is getting on a daily basis shows that somebody on the republican side needs to step up and call off the crazy dogs before something horrible happens. Glenn Beck and the others who have the widest base of uneducated, sore loser listeners need to quit the doomsday BS. It's bordering on treason.

PS That link is from "real clear politics". I take everything they say with a grain of salt. I'm pretty sure the numbers on the republicans that think Obama is a dang ole foreigner is a lot higher. What I wish is that all of the people who hate Obama so much would take a test and write the definition of socialism. I bet that would be a hoot.

And I just found that poll they referred to. It's worth mentioning that 30% of Republicans answered "They don't know". It's not a stretch that the majority of them are in the closet about what they think because they don't want to be seen as crazy. And judging from the thousands of Obama isn't from this country type websites and all the time that the insane media is devoting to such a stupid concept, more believers are being made daily simply because they are ignorant and haven't looked at the facts. I love the new "birth certificate" that the birthers have "found". I nearly died laughing looking at it. I'll have to post it. They doubt an official US document that the state of Hawaii has repeatedly said is real but they believe some mysterious fake birth certificate that is loaded with errors and is clearly fake. They just want to continue the hysteria until some crazy person takes the next step.

Why is the 400% increase not significant?

Any factual data to back the authors numbers??/ Although I'm sure he does receive several.. Why no outcry for Bush's threats??

So far there hasn't been in "outcry" for Obama's death threats. This article is the first I have heard about it. The President handles this stuff with style and grace. And as far as Bush's death threats, I never really heard about any except for that crazy pretzel that almost took him out. The problem is that there has been a huge spike in death threats since Obama took office. The main reason being people like Sarah Palin and the right wing media stirring the pot and scaring unstable people into going off the deepend. They think Obama is going to end the world because of something they heard on Fox News or at some Republican fundraiser. I can promise you that no real liberal wanted Bush knocked off. That would be Dick Cheney would be president, what could be worse than that?

As far as Obama's death threats being different than Bush's... the main difference is that there are 400% more of them than with Bush. And the "factual data" you are complaining about came from the secret service. Is that not a legit source now? I worry every day for the president's safety with the number of unstable right wing nutjobs who think it's the end times because Glenn Beck told them to prepare their doom bunkers.. Good grief...

Nobody was chanting to kill anyone at Obama rallies. The pure hatred at the Palin rallies was palpable. All you have to do is spend a day over at "Free Republic" to know how many insane people there are on the right who would love to use their beloved guns to shoot him down. Liberals tend to be peace loving folks, remember, we have the hippies. But the right tends to have more violent tendencies. They are pro-war but claim to be pro-life. They love their fire arms. They have their old testament people who interpret the Bible the way they see fit. That's simply not the case on the left. Sure, we may have a few blow hard comedians, but we aren't rallying crowds to start up a posse and go kill people.

Really because most of the reports to the secret service are about racists organizations. Ignoring that there is a real problem with racists in this country especially in the south isn't going to make it go away Lucas. And I love when republicans talk about elitism. When the right IS elitism. Go look at Rush Limbaugh's mansions again.

Here's an interview with the author of the book. Apparently he interviewed people up to the deputy director so I would say those are good sources..

I witnessed the secret service fail at one of the rallies I attended in Indianapolis. The crowd grew so big that they quit making people go through the metal detectors and took down the barriers and let everyone in because the crowd was enormous. Anyone could have took a shot at the president that day. It was frightening but the crowd was so happy and everyone was so positive, I doubt the gunmen would have got far before he was taken down by the crowd...

I don't "ignore" the racism problem... It was here long before Obama.. And there are plenty of racist on the left also.... Rush is a private citizen not the president.. If the deputy director told this author anything about numbers we are going to hear about it... I thought you didn't believe everything you read...

I don't but do you honestly think those numbers are hard to believe? Seriously? Why do you think for the first time in history they gave a candidate a secret service detail? Just for the ha ha's? It's because of the mountain of death threats. Why is that so hard to believe? I heard a man make a death threat on him when I was in the hospital. It's not hard to believe at all.

No, I don't find those numbers hard to believe.. Depends on how you count them.. A real, serious death threat with evidence or some loud mouth shooting his mouth off in public.. I heard the same death threats against Bush almost daily.. Obamas numbers are like every thing else about his Presidency.. Over sensationalized and mostly untrue.. RealClear is like Rush's website... It gets fact daily by the left and guess what.. They are almost as factual as Rush.. And before you ask I've posted the numbers and links several times.... Both sites are over 90% correct...
