Ok, so they are failing miserably at business in general, so they squander what little money they have devloping a car that no one in the nation can afford or will buy? No wonder the auto industry is headed for the crapper.

Because Corvettes have extremely high profit margins on them, even higher than what what Tahoes and Surburbans used to have back in the hey days of SUV's. If you have noticed on commercials for GM's zero percent financing or high rebates, on the bottom of the screen you will notice it almost always (if not always) adds something in small print which says: "Corvette models excluded". GM doesn't need to discount Vettes, they sell themselves just due to the love affair Americans have for them and the mystique behind the Vette.
Special addition Vettes have profit margins even higher than the "typical" Vettes. A year or two ago Chevrolet came out with the ZR-1 again which sells for a little over 100K. I have to believe a sizable chunk of that is profit. Good for GM in my opinion. I just wish the rest of their line up had more appeal so it could compete with the Camrys and Accords of the world.

Nice Vette.. I recall that the first Transformer movie introduced the new Camaro but it's taken a couple of years to get to the showroom....
