Any of us would be pretty angry? Just who is "us"?
The Cambridge Police acted stupidly? Really? How? By doing their job? The guy was acting the fool and wouldn't cooperate with the police, that's why he got arrested. Why does Obama have to think it had anything to do with race? Way to act Presidential!
Also, nice job of fanning th flames of police being racist! This guy is in so far over his head it's getting painful to watch.

The President OWES Sgt. Crowley an apology!

Obama really needs to stick to the teleprompter and the scripted questions.. Without them he repeatedly sticks his foot in his mouth..

Obama screwed up and he knows it. First he says he was unclear or didn't know what happened but I guess because the professor was a friend of his that the incident had to be the policemans fault.
Firrst of all, imo the question was stupid one considering it was at a presser on health care. Then, Mr. Obama offers up an answer after admitting that he didn't have the details. I believe a simple "I don't have all the details and have no comment at this time. Any other questions on the health care bill?" would have been suficient (then again, Obama hadn't read all the health care bill either ) Instead, Obama jumps directly on the race card bandwagon of the professor on an incident that he knew nothing about.
Obama's pitiful attempt / almost aplogy later was CYA move, not a sincere invitation or apology. jmo

Our President can go on an "apology" tour to foriegn countries that we owe no aplogy to but cannot get the facts on a situation before he condems a policeman that was doing his job along with insulting the entire ploice dept. the man worked for! So, I have to ask......who was acting "stupidly"

Cambridge Police Union response:

Gave the "impression that he was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically"? No, you flat out were!

"Could have calibrated those words differently"? Hmmm...How about he could have not said something so stupid when he had no facts?!

He AGAIN claims Sgt. Crowley Overreacted! No sir Mr. President, the officer simply did his job!!!

What issues are still very sensitive in America? The fact that when a white police officer does his job it's racism? Please tell me that's not what he's getting at!! Are there bad cops that are racist? YES. But Obama himself just said Sgt. Crowley is a good man, so the problem was with professor Gates not acting responsible.

So African Americans are sensitive to these issues? What about the innocent cop merely doing his job? Is he allowed to be sensitive to these issues? You know, being called a racist, even by the President, after all that's what Obama initially did, even though he will never admit to that.

"All of us pumping up the volume"? No sir, you did that Mr. President, not all of us!

He talks about not slinging around accusations and unity? He's the one that made the accusations and broke any unity in this case.

"Race is still a troubling aspect of our society". Yes it is, especially when the leader of the free world fans the flames of racism!!

"Whether I were black or white." I'm sorry, I have to laugh at that comment. Mr. President, you're both! Did you forget that?

So, is this supposed to be an apology to the Cambridge Police Dept. or Sgt. Crowley? If so, very sad excuse of an apology IMO.

This issue has been blown out of proportion by so many people, from the President on down.

Members of his own party are now seeing his failed programs, he has done nothing but magnify the problems he campaigned on and promised that he would fix.
Obama has the presidency, congress, and senate yet he is still blaming republicans for his failures or flat out denying that his socialist programs have made things worse, that (him blaming past admins and republicans for his policy failures) is laughable....... the economy is worse, unemployment has jumped even after his "stimulus" and now he is gong for ruining health care.

Obama is not "the one" ............Who knew??

The problem is that those that don't like President Obama look way too much into everything that the president does. Talk on Fox and Friends this morning was bad mouthing the president for his choice of summer home. I mean, after all, we as tax payers do pay his paycheck.

Additionally, too many in our country have developed the "it's our way or the highway" mantra and believe that what the US does is always right and, even if we are wrong, we sure as heck shouldn't admit it.

In this situation "valid" is a matter of opinion. Many tend to disagree that it was "valid" at all. I think Barry himself would agree that his initial opinion was invalid.

He was uninformed about the "entire" situation when asked the question, therefore, when he spewed the "stupidly" comment, IMO his opinion was not valid.
