Another whacked out conservative Obama hater. Ugh. I hope he gets the death sentence and that's coming from someone who is usually against it. If he is so ignorant that he can't even acknowledge that the holocaust happened, he needs to go meet his leader and dress for very hot weather. Evil or Very Mad

Quote :
WASHINGTON – An 88-year-old white supremacist was charged with murder Thursday, a day after he left a signed anti-Semitic screed in his car outside the U.S. Holocaust Memorial and Museum, then gunned down a security guard who opened the door to let him in, officials said.

Guard Stephen T. Johns was shot to death Wednesday by Holocaust denier James von Brunn, who left his car outside an entrance to the museum and walked in holding a rifle at his side, District Police Chief Cathy Lanier said at a news conference.

Von Brunn started shooting immediately, exchanging fire with two other guards who shot and critically injured him, Lanier said.

In his car, officers found a notebook with a handwritten note that read, "You want my weapons — this is how you'll get them. The Holocaust is a lie. Obama was created by Jews," according to a court affidavit.

Von Brunn's .22-caliber rifle held 10 more bullets and investigators found more in his car and at an apartment in Annapolis, Md., that he shared with son and his son's fiancee. Security guards fired at von Brunn at least eight times, hitting him in the face.

The museum remained closed Thursday and flags flew at half-staff in honor of Johns, 39, who had worked at the museum for six years. Bouquets of roses, lilies and other flowers were left outside the museum walls. The entrance where the shooting occurred was still cordoned off by police tape.

Von Brunn, who tried to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve decades ago, remained in critical condition Thursday at a Washington hospital. A self-described artist, advertising man and author, he wrote an anti-Semitic treatise, "Kill the Best Gentiles," decried "the browning of America" and claimed to expose a Jewish conspiracy "to destroy the White gene-pool." He also wrote of a lifetime of seething anger.

"It's better to be strong than right," he said in one of his dark online postings, "unless you like dying. Crowds hate good guys."

Von Brunn was charged with murder and killing in the course of possessing a firearm at a federal facility, both capital offenses under federal law, and authorities said Thursday hate crime charges were also possible. Johns was black.

"We know what Mr. von Brunn did yesterday at the Holocaust museum. Now it's our responsibility to determine why he did it," said Joseph Persichini, assistant director of the Washington FBI field office.

The Homeland Security Department said the shooting does not appear to have a connection to terrorism, according to a joint Homeland Security and FBI assessment, though Persichini characterized it as "domestic terrorism."

He said authorities have contacted or visited any people or places named in documents found in von Brunn's car. Authorities searched the red 2002 Hyundai for explosives, but found none.

The attack unfolded in a public space filled with records, photographs and exhibits about the Nazis' killing of more than 6 million Jews in the Holocaust more than a half-century ago.

The museum was crowded with schoolchildren and other tourists, but all escaped injury.

Ashley Camp, 14, of Forsyth, Ill., on a field trip with more than 40 other students, said she heard two or three gunshots and a security guard ordered the group to run to the exit.

"We had to sprint as fast as we could out the door," she said.

Von Brunn was sentenced in 1983 for attempted armed kidnapping and other charges in his 1981 bid to seize Fed board members. A guard captured him outside the room where the board was meeting. He had a revolver, sawed-off shotgun and knife in a bag with him. He served more than six years in prison.

"The subject resides in my memory like old road-kill," he wrote of the capture. "What could have been a slam-bang victory turned into ignoble failure."

Von Brunn is a native of St. Louis, a World War II veteran who served in the Navy, worked in advertising in New York City and moved to Maryland's Eastern Shore in the late 1960s, where he stayed in advertising and tried to make a mark as an artist.

Public records show that in 2004 and 2005 he lived briefly in Hayden, Idaho, for years home to the Aryan Nations, a racist group run by neo-Nazi Richard Butler.

Civil rights groups were familiar with his history.

"We've been tracking this guy for decades," said Heidi Beirich, director of research for the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project, which tracks hate crimes. "He thinks the Jews control the Federal Reserve, the banking system, that basically all Jews are evil."

His Internet writings say the Holocaust was a hoax. "At Auschwitz the 'Holocaust' myth became Reality, and Germany, cultural gem of the West, became a pariah among world nations," he wrote.

The attack was the third unsettling shooting that appeared to have political underpinnings.

A 23-year-old Army private, William Andrew Long, was shot and killed outside a recruiting office this month in Arkansas and a fellow soldier wounded. The suspect, a Muslim convert, has said he considers the killing justified because of the U.S. military presence in the Middle East.

Late last month, abortion provider Dr. George Tiller was shot to death in his church. The man accused of killing him is a longtime vocal opponent of abortion.

I'm not referring to anyone on this board. And of course, there are plenty of crazies out there on both sides... Just seems it's been a bad week for the conservative side and a lot of people saw it coming. I worry about Obama's safety especially when so many gun fanatics, etc.. are being told he is taking all their guns away and they are stockpiling weapons and ammo. That's why it's important that the media doesn't keep scaring them into a frenzy. tinfoil

I get why you’re concerned about Obama, but remember that Kennedy, McKinley, Garfield and Lincoln were assassinated. Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Reagan (actually shot), Carter, Ford, Nixon, Truman, FDR, T. Roosevelt (shot 3 ½ years after he left office) and Jackson had attempts on their lives. It’s also rumored that Harding and Taylor were assassinated. These threats are nothing new, sadly.

Also, don’t forget that it’s been Obama’s own rhetoric that has caused people to be concerned about their gun rights.

I still have yet to see where Obama has come out and said he is taken everyones guns away but that is what is being spread. I know this because I've heard the stories from all sorts of people. It's the snowball effect. Take something someone says and add a little as it goes along. Eventually he sounds like some crazy person who was born in Kenya is going to take away everyones guns to start a secret Muslim revolution in the US. That's just BS but there are many who want to believe it so it continues on even if there is zero truth to it. It's water cooler talk. And to insinuate that Obama is some how to blame for possible assassination attempts is pretty rude. Time Out The man has two beautiful children that adore him and need him. If he were to be assassinated that would be completely devastating in every way to them and to this country. The ONLY people to blame for something like that is the person who pulls the trigger and the people who filled his head with psycho babble.

As the first months of the Obama Administration unfold, a growing consensus is emerging that a resurgence of right-wing hate groups and radical ideas is spreading across the United States. Law enforcement officials, civil rights groups, and many others have all expressed worries about this troubling trend.

This February, in the last issue of the Intelligence Report, the Southern Poverty Law Center reported on the continued growth of hate groups, whose numbers have risen by more than 50% since 2000. It attributed that growth mainly to fears about non-white immigration, but pointed out that the rise of a black man to the White House also appears to have contributed. And it said the ongoing economic meltdown, which some have already blamed on racial minorities and undocumented Latino immigrants, could well add to a worsening situation.

Two months later, a Department of Homeland Security report, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," was leaked to the press. Dated April 7, the report mirrored many of the conclusions of the SPLC and added that "rightwing extremists [could] attempt to recruit and radicalize returning [military] veterans." (The Report has written extensively about the problem of extremists in the military.)

Already, there is evidence of the violence that an expansion of the radical right may portend. Some of it is chilling.

* In late April, a man shot to death two Okaloosa County, Fla., sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call. Officials said Joshua Cartwright was interested in militia groups and that his wife told police that he was "severely disturbed" by Obama's election.
* Three days before the DHS report was issued, a gunman in Pittsburgh killed three police officers. Internet postings by the suspect in the months before the murders suggest the man was motivated by racist and anti-Semitic ideology, antigovernment conspiracy theories, and a fear that Obama would pass confiscatory gun laws.
* Around the same time, a Marine who had earlier been arrested for armed robberies near Camp Lejeune, N.C., was indicted for threatening Obama. Kody Brittingham's journal allegedly contained neo-Nazi propaganda and a plan to assassinate the then president-elect.
* On Jan. 21, the day after Obama's inauguration, a white man in Brockton, Mass., allegedly murdered two black people and planned to kill as many Jews as he could that night. Police said the man told them he'd been reading white supremacist websites and believed that whites were facing a genocide.
* Last December, a woman who had just shot her husband to death in Belfast, Maine, told police that James Cummings was "very upset" with Obama's election, had been in touch with white supremacist groups, and had talked of building a "dirty bomb" chock full of deadly radioactive materials. Police found many of the components for that bomb, along with an application for the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement filled out by Cummings.
* And in late October, two racist skinheads were arrested in Tennessee and charged in connection with an alleged plot to murder more than 100 black Americans, beheading some of them, and then to assassinate Obama.

The government report was met with howls of outrage from pundits, politicians and others on the right who characterized it as an attack on conservatives and veterans — an absurd contention for anyone who actually read the document.

Televangelist Pat Robertson, the gay-bashing founder of the Christian Coalition, even said the DHS report "shows somebody down in the bowels of that organization is either a convinced left winger or somebody whose sexual orientation is somewhat in question."

These expressions of anger were disingenuous at best. The reality is that many of these same people have done their best to pour fuel on the flames of incipient antigovernment fury, feeding the same kind of white-hot popular anger that animated the militia movement of the 1990s, with all its violence.

MSNBC commentator Pat Buchanan recently said Obama would face a "bloodbath" if he legalized undocumented workers. U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) fears Obama will set up "re-education camps for young people." U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) warns there are 17 "socialists" in the Congress. FOX News' Glenn Beck calls Obama a fascist, a Nazi and a Marxist, and even refloated militia-era conspiracy theories about secret concentration camps for patriots.

People like Beck — who described himself as a mere "rodeo clown" when he was called out on such statements — may be craven opportunists pandering for ratings. It really doesn't matter. Their lunatic rants, planted in the rich soil of social discontent, make it that much harder for our country to advance toward a better future.

So, you think this is a new phenomenon? Here are some about Bush.

A 17-year-old high school student from upstate New York faces up to a year in jail for threatening to kill President Bush and attack the White House.
"I'm going to blow up the White House and Kill you and your family," John Fellows admitted he wrote in an e-mail message. "You're a stupid peace [sic] of [excrement] and deserve to Die!!!"

A federal jury convicted a graduate student at Purdue University on Thursday of threatening to kill President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and other government officials involved in the Iraq War, the Associated Press reported. The student, Vikram Buddhi, is a 35-year-old citizen of India and has been studying engineering at Purdue for a decade.

Federal authorities have charged a Louisiana man with threatening to kill President Bush. A social worker who met with Gregory Broussard in an emergency room last month told Secret Service agents that Broussard had threatened to kill Bush and blow up the White House, according to an affidavit in support of the criminal complaint. Broussard, of Hammond, Louisiana, told agents during an interview at a behavioral hospital that he knew how to make napalm and was a pyromaniac, according to the affidavit.

In a phone conversation with his former girlfriend, Wanda O'Hickey-Way, Charles went on and on about the state of his life and the person he blamed for his current situation - President George Bush. Wanda testified in court that Charles had threatened to kill the president.
"Committing this murder is not a murder, it's making a difference for the people," court papers say the former girlfriend, Wanda O'Hickey-Way, quoted Madrid as saying. "I'm going to kill who needs to be killed."

A SHOPPING center security guard and former US naval engineer who threatened to kill President George W Bush and blow up the American embassy in Dublin was given a suspended two-year sentence at Galway Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.Declan Noel O’Shea (38), a native of Kilkenny, with a rental address at Emerson Avenue, Salthill, Galway, had pleaded guilty in May to making hundreds of threatening phone calls to an FBI agent over a nine-year period.

Tampa, Florida police officer, Joseph Mazagwu, has been arrested after telling a dry cleaning clerk that he wanted to kill President George W. Bush and Bush's father.
Court records state Mazagwu said he did not want to protect Bush when he came to Florida, and did not approve of Bush's policies in Iraq and Africa. Mazagwu allegedly said that both Bushes should be shot, and if he had the bullets, he would shoot Bush.

In her new book, "Peace Mom," Cindy Sheehan confesses on page 29 that she has imagined going back in time and killing the infant George W. Bush in order to prevent the Iraq War. It's the moonbat version of pre-emption. Sheehan admits she has entertained this infanticidal fantasy "often." That ice-cream-and-coffee hunger strike is getting to her head.

Meanwhile, our friends in Canada celebrated the screening of a new kill-Bush fictional documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival. "Death of a President," a British mockudrama, is set in the fall of 2007 and looks back at the impact on America after President Bush is assassinated as he leaves the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago. The 90-minute feature explores who could have planned the murder, with a Syrian-born man wrongly accused of the crime.

Campaigning on the rights of young people at the Earth Dialogues forum, being held in Brisbane, NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush."I have a very hard time with this word ‘non-violence’, because I don’t believe that I am non-violent," said Ms Williams, 64."Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.

There's also a video on YouTube of a young boy that wants to assassinate George Bush. I won't post it on here, but here's the link. [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bgu7qsqhNaQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bgu7qsqhNaQ[/url]

Well GOOD LORD YES, I find that to be horrible! I couldn't stand Bush but I didn't want him dead for heavens sake. These are disgusting! During a discussion of the hate crimes that have made national news in the past week or so (the abortion doctor's murder and the murder of the black security guard at the Holocaust museum), Bill Maher had an interesting observation the other night: certainly not all Republicans are racist, but it is a safe bet that if you are a racist, you are a Republican. You just don't hear about hating Democrats shooting people...when was the last time the CEO of a polluting company was shot by a "radical" Democrat, or an elected official killed for supporting a ban against same-sex marriage? The "liberal left" seems determined to solve and resolve problems within the accepted infrastructure, and not by killing representatives of
the other side.
