Rules of The Outpost Saloon

1. Do not choose a user name that sounds like profanity. You should also avoid choosing a real person’s name (other than your own,) since this might suggest that you are someone you are not.

2. Do not allow anyone to post using your user name. Also, remember to log off each time you leave the site. This is especially important if you use a public computer. Someone could get on after you and post violations in your name. You will be held responsible.

3. You may quote an article or information from another website, but do not post the information in its entirety. Just post a quotation of reasonable length, and then add a link to the rest of the article. Not only will this make it easier for posters to get more in depth information on a subject, it will prevent you from violating anyone’s copyright.

4. Do not post any information that you believe is likely to be proven false.

5. While spirited, and sometimes heated, debate is an important part of what The Outpost Saloon is all about, we are not here to beat each other up. Please be respectful of your fellow posters and their views. Name-calling, insults, threats, and otherwise abusive behavior will quickly get you bounced out on your tail. So don’t be a jackass!

6. Do not post anything that might reveal anyone’s “real world” identity. Posting anonymously is an important part of any forum, and we don’t want to do anything to jeopardize that right.

7. Please avoid using extreme profanity in your posts. We allow some words that might not be allowed on other sites; however, we do have a word filtering system to block the strongest profanity and inappropriate words.

8. Using symbols, intentionally misspelling words, or otherwise attempting to bypass the word filtering system is not allowed. If you see (*****) in place of any word in your post, just edit your post and choose another word.

9. Do not post repulsive, vulgar or pornographic material.

10. Derogatory remarks about anyone’s race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation are prohibited.

11. Negative remarks about other forums are not allowed. It you have a problem with another website you need to take it up with that site directly. Also, we want everyone to spread the good word about The Outpost, but please do not be a "poster poacher." In other words, don't advertise or recruit for this site on another forum site. That's not a classy thing to do. However, social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter) are fair game.

12. Do your best to make your posts readable. Use proper grammar, punctuation and capitalization to the best of your ability. Remember, your posts reflect directly on you and your credibility.
