If government runs or even dabbles in health care/insurance...Guess what? You got it. BROKE!
I don't want to offend anyone, but if you really think government will do good with health care reform. You simply are not thinking clearly. THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING! And I didn't realize all of those things were broke above. Welfare is broke? Cash for Clunkers is broke? Coulda fooled me. So far it's been a HUGE success and people are actually buying cars again. Heaven forbid. Social Security is broke? I'm still getting my disability check from them so they must not be. GM is broke. Well yeah, that's their fault for not changing years ago. The government bank account was broke before Obama took office. Same with the budget. And I suppose the people ran the government when Bush was in office? Why is it that you guys voted for him if you thought he was such a screw up? We woulda been better off with Nader.

| Skinnypig is correct the Fed is broke.... All the money Obama is spending is borrowed or being printed... Where do you think the money is coming from anyway?? Out of Obama's magic lamp?? He is sinking us farther in debt than ALL the past Presidents in our nations history.. No wonder Obama won't release his grades from college.. He surely failed economics.. | |

You're still getting your check because we're falling farther an farther in debt. And please stop trying to put words in my mouth when it comes to Bush and Cheney.
Whether or not you and BHO realize it, THIS COUNTRY IS BROKE! And that Gringa, is a fact. You didn't answer any of my questions again. You are talking in circles pig... No circles here Gringa. Maybe if I say the government doesn't have any money it will be easier to understand than BROKE ! And yes, the Bush Admin helped break us. As far as Bush goes...His Admin and congress was almost as bad as this one when it came to being fiscally responsible...Almost. I did vote for him over Gore and again over Kerry. I will not defend his Admin's overspending and expansion of government though. Nor will I support his involvement in the beginning of the bailouts. There are lots of things I didn't support Bush on but that's in the past and it's time to look at what's happening now. It's time to let go of your obvious hatred of the Bush/Cheney policies, their time is over, it will take a great weight from your shoulders. Better be paying close attention to what's going on NOW.

You just said you voted for him both times even though you believed he was making bad decisions. You picked him simply because he was a republican because you are a republican. At least you admit it.

| I voted for him because his policies were more in line with mine than the policies of the others. I would vote for a green, homosexual, female democrat if I thought she would govern with fiscal responsibility while using the Constitution as a guide. Again you put words in my mouth with this doozy "You picked him simply because he was a republican because you are a republican". Please stop speaking for me, please. Pretty please with a cherry on top. | |

| Government run health care is failing world wide... Canada, Switzerland, England, France and more.. Socialistic, single payer plans just don't work.. The link is a collection of newspaper articles from several countries detailing their countries disasters in universal health care.. http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/issues/healthcare/socialized.html | |

How many people come here specifically for care? And I prefer numbers not anecdotal evidence.

I would hardly consider a compilation of critical newspaper articles the equivalent of the verdict of failure. I sincerely doubt you would find a poll of a developed countries' citizenry who would rate their healthcare below ours. Afterall, we already share a model with the Canadians in Medicare and a model with the British in Veterans Affairs. Both of which are quite well regarded by those who use them here. And I have yet to see a health reform bill that would propose models similar to either of those anyhow.

| Yeah all the systems are great but they are either broke or going broke. Especially France England and Canada's... Our Medicare system is broke and running up the deficit on a daily basis.. So again, who's system do you prefer?? | |

And ours isn't going broke? Private insurance premiums rising triple the rate of inflation is indicative a fiscally sound health system?

| Never said our system didn't need reform... We just can't afford government run health care.. If it hasn't ever worked anywhere why do you think it will work here?? | |

It's vastly cheaper everywhere else. Then why are their systems broke and not working as intended??? Maybe because it's a difficult policy area and no country has it exactly right. And the global economic downturn isn't helping either.
