I believe they should lose their tax exempt status in all states. It is not a "church" at all. It scams it's followers out of millions of dollars. I just watched the South Park episode last night that Tom Cruise tried to sue them for. I nearly died laughing. I don't normally watch that show but I rented it on netflix just to see it. I knew their general beliefs about Lord Xenu and everything but didn't know how L. Ron Hubbard had actually come up with it all. Unreal. People should be allowed to worship what they wish but you can't even be a member unless you pay. That's not a religion, that's a club. A creepy, weird club. alien

I also think several other "churches" should lose their exempt status...

I think any of them that promote politics from the pulpit should, indeed. We've got one in our area that does this quite a bit - but their "pastor" just left, so maybe things will be different.

Many "pastors" around here should lose their tax exempt status. I guess the main problem is that this is a red state, with some very powerful republican leaders that would probably keep anyone from getting in trouble. This sort of stuff needs to be reported. Especially the story regarding your students. I'd write to the local paper. People need to know that this sort of behavior won't go unnoticed. Makes me ill and makes me scared to send my kids to Sunday school, which is just horrible.
